Milton celebrates Veteran’s Day

Milton celebrated Veteran’s Day Monday with a parade and much, much more.

Thousands of people turned out for the events, which was kicked off by the annual Veteran’s Day parade at 9:30 a.m. The parade started at Milton High School and wound its way to South Willing St. and the Santa Rosa Veteran’s Memorial Plaza.

One special feature at this year’s parade was the “Santa Rosa County Marching Band.”

This band consisted of over 750 members from all six high schools – Central, Gulf Breeze, Jay, Milton, Navarre, and Pace –  in the Santa Rosa County School System.

At the plaza, which is located near the Milton Riverwalk and Blackwater River, the county’s annual Veteran’s Day ceremony commenced with proclamations and much more.sented Central, Gulf Breeze, Jay, Milton, Navarre, and Pace high schools respectively.

The featured guest speaker at this year’s event was Capt. Richard Cantone.

After the ceremony the Santa Rosa County 4-H held its annual Veteran’s Day cookout at the South Riverwalk Plaza.
