Published on January 07, 2014 with No Comments

If you are like most, one of your New Year’s resolutions was to get in shape or to exercise more.

The City of Milton can help you meet those goals and more with the programs and offerings at the Milton Community Center.

Besides the community sports programs such as basketball, baseball, and football the Milton Community Center proudly offers several fitness and exercise opportunities.

One opportunity is the fully equipped fitness room where membership is only $10 a month.

The fitness room offers a climate controlled environment so you don’t get too hot or too cold depending on the season as well as two treadmills, an elliptical machine, two stationary bikes, a four station exercise machine, free weights, and much more.

The best part of the community center’s fitness room is there are no contracts or additional fees. If you miss a month, you are not charged for it, you just pick up and pay the following month.

Also there are other offerings to help you improve and create a new you.

On Monday’s at 10 a.m. there is a line dancing class held at the Milton Community Center so you can not only have a great time, but get your heart rate going as well. The line dancing class is $4 a session.

And if you would like a quieter and tranquil way of exercising the Milton Community Center also offers yoga classes on Tuesday and Friday mornings at 10 a.m. and on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 6 p.m.

These classes are $5 a session and are open to beginners as well as the more advanced or experienced person in the art of yoga.

If you are looking to help your child get more exercise the Milton Community Center also hosts a martial arts class on Monday and Thursday evenings that gets underway at 6:30 p.m. with instructor Gary Nichols.
