If you have ever considered becoming a Master Gardener in Santa Rosa County, learn more about the program by attending our open house Friday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. at UF/IFAS Extension Santa Rosa County located at 6263 Dogwood Drive in Milton.

Master Gardeners are dedicated individuals who train in horticulture under extension faculty. After training, they serve as volunteers in the community communicating research-based gardening knowledge and the principles of Florida-friendly landscaping. Attend to learn more about training and the role of Master Gardeners in the community.

If you are interested in training to be a Master Gardener, applications are due Nov. 1. The selection process with interviews takes place in November. Often there are more applications than openings.

The training course is scheduled to begin January 2015. The class will meet every Thursday for 15 weeks from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at UF/IFAS Extension Santa Rosa County located at 6263 Dogwood Drive in Milton.
