Santa Rosa County Supervisor of Elections Tappie A. Villane reminds voters that registration books will close on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. It is the last day to register to vote for the General Election to be held on November 4, 2014.

On this November’s ballot besides the governors race will be a county wide non-binding referendum regarding three sites for a new courthouse and if the citizens will support a one cent tax to help fund the new structure.

The three sites proposed involve reconstructing a new courthouse in downtown Milton on land near the current site, a site on Highway 90 west of Milton around Pea Ridge, or locating the new courthouse in East Milton.

Florida law mandates registration books close 29 days before an election. New registrations must be completed on or before the end of the business day on October 6, 2014 in order for them to be effective for the November 4 election.

The South Annex located at 5841 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for registration on October 6, 2014. The main office at 6495 Caroline Street in Milton is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Address and party changes can be made after the books close. If you are unsure of your registration status, visit VoteSantaRosa.com and click on “My Registration Status.”

Early Voting begins October 20 in Santa Rosa County.

Anyone with questions should call the Elections Office at 983-1900.
