Milton is looking for sunnier skies this Friday

Published on April 20, 2015 with No Comments

The City of Milton is hoping for sunnier skies this Friday as they look to host a full slate of activities downtown.

After a couple of postponements due to weather, the Milton Parks Department has scheduled a day full of activities for April 24:

* Scratch Ankle on North Willing Street from 4 – 9 p.m.
* Riverwalk Market in front of the South Pavilion from 5 – 9 p.m.
* Bands on the Blackwater on South Willing St. from 7 – 9 p.m.

Scratch Ankle is a festival featuring non-profit and civic organizations from around the area.

Scratch Ankle, which was first held in 1971 on N. Willing Street, is a gathering of Milton residents to celebrate the city’s historic and rich heritage. To help in this the city is offering non-profit clubs, organizations, and groups home-based in the Tri-County area (Santa Rosa, Escambia, and Okaloosa counties) the chance to participate while serving as a fund raiser for their organization.

The Riverwalk Market will open for its first official date and be held the next three Friday’s and will end on May 15.

Friday night’s Bands on the Blackwater will feature Santa Rosa County’s very own Chloe Channell who appeared on America’s Got Talent.

For more information on this and other events put on by the Milton Parks Department you can follow them on Facebook or contact the Guy Thompson Community Center at 983-5466.
