Weather reschedules Scratch Ankle

The threat of rain forced the City of Milton’s Parks Department to move back the Scratch Ankle Festival to April 17.

“With the number of groups and organizations who are planning to make Scratch Ankle such a successful event this year, we want to give them the best opportunity to succeed,” said Milton Parks Director John Norton. “With the threatening weather for our area it would not be best for our non-profits and other organizations to set up and then have the event cancelled at the last minute.

“With so many parties involved we feel it is in the best interest of everyone involved to delay the festival for one week.”

So Scratch Ankle is now set for April 17 from 4 – 9 p.m. on North Willing Street. Also that same date the Riverwalk Market will kick off its first week from 5 – 9 p.m. along the South Riverwalk featuring fresh produce, local art, baked good and hand-crafted items.

Rain also forced the parks department to cancel the first Bands on the Blackwater concert of the season. The 2015 concert series will officially kick off on April 17 featuring Deja’ Vu.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. on South Willing Street and will run until 9 p.m.
