Big Screen on the Blackwater and Light up Milton plan for holiday fun

The City of Milton and Santa Rosa Arts and Culture Foundation are working together to create three weeks of holiday joy in downtown Milton.

Foundation members Cindea Booth and Vice President Sharon Holley said this is the first time the foundation will contribute in Christmas festivities during all three Fridays of Big Screen on the Blackwater.

“Up until now the foundation only contributed during Light up Milton,” said Sharon Holley. “We’re excited about contributing in a larger measure this year.”

The upcoming schedule for December 2, 9th and 16 has fun activities for young and old, said Booth.

5:30 Santa’s Reindeer Parade  Begins at corner of Walton St. & Oak Street

6     Carriage Rides (In front of Blackwater Bistro )

6     Lighting of the Christmas tree

6     Local School Chorus (N. Willing St. Parking Lot)

  •       Bagdad Elementary 7 – 7:25

6:30 Big Screen on the Blackwater movie “The Santa Clause”  (S. Willing St.)

7:30 Christmas story reading at Camelot Junction

5-8  Face Painting (N. Willing St.)

8:30  Lighted Boat Parade (Boardwalk)

 

Dec 3 Milton Christmas Parade-This year’s parade route begins at James Street, continues onto Stewart Street to Elva Street. The parade begins at 6 p.m.

Dec 9

6 p.m. Big Screen on the Blackwater movie holiday shorts beginning with “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Frost the Snowman” and “Charlie Brown Christmas.”

5-8  Dancing in the Streets (N. Willing St.)

  •              Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest and S’mores (N. Willing St)
  •              Holiday Market Festival of Lights (N. Willing St.)

Dec. 16th

  3. I posted on ‘you know you’re from Milton’ on Facebook earlier this year suggesting a New Year’s celebration. Many people said they’d like that. Do you think that might be possible? BTW I did email the mayor but never heard back.

  4. a new year eve celabration would be nice so us milton people wont have to go to pensacola fl, block it off befor people get there let people hide rocks and plaste ducks
