Just For You

If kisses were raindrops, I’d

send you showers.

If hugs were seconds, I’d

send you hours.

If smiles were water, Id

send you a sea.

If love was a person, I’d

send you me.

I Was a Goner

My heart was racing

like I was an Olympian

running from that dog.

I ran and ran but no

it would not give up.

I thought I was a goner.

That is when it came to like a flash –

look for a person in a car.

I ran to one gave me a ride

and the dog disappeared from my sight.

When I got to my destination

I got out.

That’s’ when I heard a bark.

The dog came bursting out

from the bushes.

I ran to the house and

finally the dog gave it up.

This is how I almost was a goner.

Wanting

I want to be a baseball player

and a good guy.

I want to be a veteran

and feel no sorrow.

I want to be a good student

like the other kids.

Distraction

We’re so distracted

by how things

just so quickly end.

We usually forget

how beautiful

the beginning was.
