President Toni New of the foundation said artistic lectures is something the board feels the county needs. “The Foundation has been gathering individuals of the fine arts to form a lecture series. One demonstrator or lecture a month is our goal. This month we are celebrating the written word by inviting two local authors and an illustrator to speak . As a foundation, we desire to encourage others and support those that wish to become authors or illustrators and we want to give them an avenue to receive our support,” said New.

Featured artist include authors Sally Melvin and Jerry Merritt and illustrator Sue Dyess. New said there will be time for a Q & A and light refreshments will be served.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
