Interested in learning more about the coastal environment?

Do you and your family want to get your hands wet and learn about local marine life such as fish, crabs and sea turtles?

You can do that and more during an exciting day at the Navarre Beach Marine Park.

As part of the Beaches to Woodlands Tour, Coastal Encounters is a fun hands-on family event that brings all the exciting elements of the Navarre Beach Marine Park together.

This event is free on Oct. 5, 2013 from 10 am until 2 pm. The Park is located on Navarre Beach just east of the four-way stop.  For more information please contact Chris Verlinde at (850) 623-3868 or chrismv@ufl.edu.

Coastal Encounters will feature activities of the Marine Science Station, the Sea Turtle Conservation Center, and if the weather is calm, see the underwater wonders of the Marine Sanctuary! In addition, students will provide plenty of hands-on activities and representatives from local groups such as Audubon, Florida Master Naturalists, Florida Sea Grant and more will be on hand to share information on actions you can take to help protect our coastal areas.
