Milton Fire Department host neighborhood dinner

The City of Milton Fire Department recently hosted a spaghetti dinner for their neighbors to show their appreciation for their cooperation and tolerance with the new fire station in their neighborhood.  Invitations went out throughout the area of Ravine, Hunt, Williams and Collins Streets behind the station, and about a dozen residents attended.

Members of the fire department provided a complete spaghetti dinner, including salad and garlic bread.  The dessert, hand-made tiramisu provided by Giuseppe Gigliotti of G & G Italian Restaurant at 5941 Berryhill Road, was a big hit.  After the meal Fire Chief John E. Reble presented a history of the fire department.

“We wanted to show our appreciation for our neighbors,” said Captain Jim Custred.  “While we always try to be good neighbors, we know that a fire station can be noisy at times or have an impact on the neighborhood, like during our annual Fire Prevention Week Open House.  We appreciate your patience with us,” he said.
