“About Boating Safety,” will be held at the Milton Fire Department on Sept. 13 starting at 9 a.m.

The eight hour class covers basic legal requirements for boaters, boating safety, elements of boat handling, as well as how to handle some common boating emergencies.

There is a test at the end of the class. A passing score will make the boater eligible for a State of Florida Boating ID card, which is a requirement for boaters younger than 26 years of age to operate a boat on state waters.
