Hundreds of children and parents enjoyed Blackwater Waterfest Saturday, August 20. The event was located at the corner of Broad and Berryhill Streets in downtown Milton. The city sponsored event entertained elementary school aged children and their parents with 5 waterslides and a spot of rain shooting from a fire truck, courtesy of Milton Fire Department.

Milton City Manager Brian Watkins said he’s hopeful for more events of this nature next summer. “We’re happy so many came out to enjoy the fun. We want people to come and enjoy their downtown,” said Watkins.

The Waterfest event, scheduled to celebrate after the first week of school for the year, prefaced the upcoming Bands on the Blackwater, which begins September 9.
