Deborah Becker, owner of Boomerang Pizza Kitchen on North Willing Street in downtown Milton is still taken with the small town charm of the City of Milton. It shows in her “retro-styled” gift shop and restaurant.

“I want people to feel like they’re eating at their grandma’s house. We’re the Cracker Barrel of pizza,” she said. “The great thing about being in business in Milton is the fact I feel like I’m a part of something here. I’m part of a team. I love to work but I also love teamwork. I believe it shows,” she said.

Becker was drawn to Milton years ago and many people remember her first retail/online business in the same building on Willing Street called Polkadots. When she made the decision to open a pizza kitchen, which is a business she felt downtown needed and would become a destination restaurant, it didn’t take long for customers to ‘boomerang’ back.

Becker went to San Francisco to learn how to make award winning pizza from Tony Gemignani, 12 time international award winning pizza champion. She said she learned unique dough methods, ingredients, and special sauces during her time in California. She said the response was positive.

“People are driving from far and wide,” she said. “The success is the pizza.”
